About Hattie
Hattie has built a life shaped by movement, adventure, and time spent in wild places
From high mountain trails to open water swims, triathlons, and long-distance cycle tours, her approach to coaching and guiding is rooted in lived experience and a genuine love for the outdoors.

Her sporting background is broad and varied
Spanning netball, athletics, cross-country, rowing, mountain running, triathlons, and functional fitness competitions. Years immersed in CrossFit and strength and conditioning have given Hattie a strong understanding of how strength, resilience, and cross-training underpin mountain performance and open water swimming. This holistic approach allows her to support clients not just to go further, but to move better and stay healthy along the way.
Hattie is a qualified Mountain Leader and Open Water Swim Coach
With many years’ experience coaching individuals and groups. She has led swimmers in open water environments and guided both groups and solo clients in the mountains, combining technical knowledge with calm, supportive leadership. Recently, she has added climbing to her skillset — reflecting her belief that learning never stops and that curiosity is an essential part of an adventurous life.

Her personal adventures have taken her all over the world
She has completed cycle tours across Southeast Asia, Scotland, Italy, and Canada, run six marathons in six days around the Shropshire Way for charity, and taken on long-distance mountain challenges including the Welsh 3000s and the Rhinog Traverse.
Hattie also brings a deep understanding of injury, recovery, and resilience. Following an Achilles reconstruction in 2021, she returned not only to full fitness but to podium finishes in mountain running races and the completion of ultra-distance events. This experience informs her coaching with empathy, patience, and a focus on sustainable progression.
Adventure Hat’s goal
Hattie’s aim is to help others feel strong, confident, and prepared to experience the outdoors at their best — whether that’s a first open water swim, a technical mountain day, or a long-held adventure goal.
